NOTICE OF FEE INCREASE The Valley School District No. 262, Jerome County has proposed
to increase its adult breakfast, adult lunch and student second meal fees by an amount that
exceeds 105% of the fee charged last year. The proposed increase of $4.95 for adult lunch is
106% above and the proposed increase of $2.85 for adult breakfast is 108% above the fees
charged the previous year. The following table is an estimate of what these changes may mean to
teachers, staff and guests who eat in the lunchroom.
Students who get a second meal will also be
charged this new proposed fee. Each year the Idaho Child Nutrition Program (CNP)/Idaho
Department of Education calculates the minimum prices for adult breakfast and lunch meals. For
SY 24-25 the CNP & Idaho Department of Education are requiring a raise to adult meal prices.
All community members are invited to attend a public hearing on the increased fee request. The
hearing will be held on June 10, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Valley School Media Center, 882 Valley
Rd, Hazelton, ID 83335.
